A few things you should pick up right now

Spliced Graphic Tee

Metal and Rock T-Shirts, particularly these spliced style tops have been popping up all over the place recently, from Jaden Smith’s Instagram feed to fashion week runways and I love them.

The T-Shirts are are great way to mix up graphic prints and add a little extra detail into your look, rather than a typical (but still very cool) band tee. I got mine from Topman and have been loving wearing it with some ripped up denim and chelsea boots for a Saint Laurent x Vetements inspired look.

I think they’re a great Winter – Spring transition piece, as they’re perfect to wear solo, on warmer days or layered up with a shirt, hoodie, jacket etc. on the cooler days.

They’re a streetwear staple and so versatile, they are another piece you can see in high-street stores but also in high-end stores like Saint Laurent – one of my favourites is their distressed plaid shirt, with bleach splatters all over it’s super unique and an awesome piece.

I picked up mine from River Island, and it’s on in the sale for just £8 – so if you’re after one go grab it – here! I was surprised at how good the quality was – it has a really thick, soft material and a great shape. I’ve been wearing it loads, but in a tonne of different styles.

They are super easy to layer and I’ve been wearing it over hoodies, between pieces like a t-shirt and denim jacket, where it hangs below the waistline, creating a really nice layered look, and also with it tied around my waist.

Orange

Orange IS the new black & is taking over my Instagram feed with a haul of streetwear enthusiasts infusing some orange pieces into their looks. I’m a huge fan.

I think orange pieces work amazingly with an otherwise monochrome look & they are a great way to add some colour and make your look stand out. Perfect for the Spring/Summer season we’re heading into.

I really like this oversized orange hoodie and it’s a super affordable price, especially compared with a Balmain version which would set you back £400+.

College Look #1

Outfit: Penfield Sweatshirt (Similar) / River Island Jeans / Nike Trainers
Details: Boss Orange Watch / Engraved Cuff (Etsy) / Asos Backpack (Similar)

Since September, I have been attending college to do my A-Levels. It’s a big difference to secondary school but I’m enjoying it; one of the biggest differences is the fact that we don’t have a uniform, which I’m pretty happy about to be honest. But, now that I’ve been there a good few months it’s becoming a bit difficult to find new outfits for every day! So, I’ve put together a series of ‘College Looks’ to give anyone feeling the same a bit of inspiration. This is the first…

This look is a nice casual Autumn look. I absolutely love this Penfield sweatshirt, it’s super comfy and fits great. Sweatshirts are definitely my must have Autumn piece. I paired it with some standard black jeans and my grey, Nike Roshe Runs. I chose to style this look with trainers as I felt it gave it a super casual feel and also they’re such comfy shoes, especially when climbing 5 flights of stairs in college.

For the details, I chose a leather backpack from Asos, in a grey colour, I love it and think the colour contrasts nicely with the navy sweatshirts. On my wrist, I wore my Boss Orange watch and silver engraved cuff, I love how the silver case of the watch looks next to the silver cuff.

Effortless Street Style

Tommy Hilfiger Bobby Jacket / Primark Black T-Shirt (Similar)/ River Island Black Sid Jeans (Custom Rips) / White Converse Sawyer Sneakers

Casual streetwear is my favourite style to wear. This look is effortless yet stylish and works well as a day to day look. I went with a pretty much all black look, which allows the shoes and jacket to stand out. Also, I find that all black looks are easy to put together but work incredibly well to create a stylish outfit.

My jacket is from Tommy Hilfiger and was a steal, it’s a lightweight waterproof jacket which I bought in the sale for a fraction of it’s original price. It fits perfectly and has a bold colour, allowing it to stand out from any outfit, and making it an essential streetwear piece.

My jeans are custom ripped, by myself. I chose to rip the jeans myself because I felt I could get a more custom look, rather than just having simple rips on each knee.

The shoes I’m wearing are a pair I picked up at the beginning of summer and I am trying to get my wear out of them before the weather starts to turn. I love how the bright white leather stands out from my all black look and they’re definitely one of my favourite pairs of casual shoes.

A day at the beach

Finally, what seemed to be an endless Winter has come to a close. It’s so nice to go outside and not feel the need to wrap up or put on a big, warm coat. Although, here in England I’d advise a light jacket as it’s not quite Summer yet.

It’s still a little chilly by the sea so that’s why I went for a sweatshirt as opposed to a t-shirt, I paired this with a light coloured Harrington jacket and some black jeans. I hope you enjoy this little outfit post, all the details of what I’m wearing will be at the end.

New Year’s Eve Attire

Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and I’m sure most of you will be going out to celebrate, because of this I decided to put together a short post on my outfit for New Year.

I fancied a shirt with some kind of pattern on because I didn’t want to just be plain and boring. When I went in River Island yesterday I instantly fell in love with this monochrome shirt. I’ll be pairing it with some smart black jeans; smart shoes and my brown leather strapped watch, to really finish the smart look off.

I haven’t done an outfit post in a while and I really wanted to do another, so here it is.  This outfit is a smart/casual look that I wore to a party recently, it’s a fairly simple outfit, nothing too flashy but I think it has a nice, smart style.

The outfit consisted simply of dark wash River Island jeans and a Jack Wills grey flannel shirt. Although the jeans are quite a casual piece, pairing them with the smart shirt makes it really easy to accomplish a smart look. I also wore River Island grey chunky sole brogues and a simple watch with a tan strap, these pieces added nice details to my outfit, to really finish it off.

It’s really quite simple to achieve a smart look, hence the title of this blog post. I hope you enjoyed this post, more outfit posts coming soon!

Adam.
