My Current Favourites

I thought I’d start the blog back up by curating a few of my favourite things right now….

1. First up is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque and their Men’s Lip Balm! The mask, I got a sample of at the start of the month when I was doing some shopping in Kiehl’s and I will 110% be purchasing the full-size tub. This is a moisturising masque that you apply after cleansing your skin and leave on overnight. It’s aim is to “replenish your skin’s water reserves”. I’ve always struggled with my skin and my T-Zone can often get very dry, but after using this product my skin genuinely felt so hydrated and refreshed it was great! I used it around 3 nights a week and the results were really visible and I honestly think it’s cleared up my skin, a lot. The lip balm is also super hydrating and stays matte, which is exactly what I need, especially in the cold weather right now.

2. Next, is this Louis Vuitton card holder, its made with their traditional leather and embossed with a Volez Voguez Voyagez design, which I love! It can fit about two cards in which is perfect for nights out when I don’t want too much bulk in my pockets! And, I got it as a freebie because my parcel was delayed which makes it even more amazing.

3. Crep Protect is my 3rd current favourite. I’m such a lover of trainers and shoes in general and this stuff keeps them protected so well! I managed to keep my new NMD’s really fresh, even in the rainy UK weather! I got a gift set with their cleaning solution and wipes and they’re also super helpful for if I do get my shoes dirty. Since having them I always have a couple wipes in my backpack for emergencies!

4. Finally, a bit of reading for you all… I loved “The subtle art of not giving a fuck” by Mark Manson. I read it whilst on holiday in Lanzarote in January and it was a really refreshing perspective to start the year! I’d 100% recommend it!

On the same refreshing wavelength, I’m super happy to be back to my blog and I’m keen to work hard and produce some really great fashion and travel content so stay tuned through 2018 and be sure to follow my social media channels (Links in sidebar).

Joining The Boost Gang

I am huge trainer/sneaker fan, I love Stan Smith’s, NMD’s, Comme Des Garçons, Ultra Boost, Yeezy’s, the list goes on… I’ve wanted to grab myself a pair of Adidas with ‘Boost’ for a good while, but, I’ve always waited out, hoping I’d manage to snatch a pair of the latest Yeezy 350’s. Unfortunately, like most, I’ve taken an L every damn time (If anyone wants to hook me up, I’m a UK 8).

So, when I was doing a bit of shopping in St. Ives last month I could not resist when I spotted a pair of Uncaged Ultra Boost, in my size, in the window of one of my favourites stores – Number 8.

I picked up the boost in the “collegiate” colourway, at retail price (£130) and was super keen to see whether the boost sole lived up to its hype. I love the silhouette and design of the shoe, particularly the prime-knit upper, which hugs my ankles. I’ve been wearing them loads. And, yes, they are insanely comfy.

Ignoring the hype that surrounds the boost sole I would honestly say they’re the comfiest shoes I’ve worn. As well a the awesome aesthetic, they’re super light and you almost don’t feel like you’ve got shoes on! I hugely recommend the boost sole and can safely say it won’t be my last pair.

A few things you should pick up right now

Spliced Graphic Tee

Metal and Rock T-Shirts, particularly these spliced style tops have been popping up all over the place recently, from Jaden Smith’s Instagram feed to fashion week runways and I love them.

The T-Shirts are are great way to mix up graphic prints and add a little extra detail into your look, rather than a typical (but still very cool) band tee. I got mine from Topman and have been loving wearing it with some ripped up denim and chelsea boots for a Saint Laurent x Vetements inspired look.

I think they’re a great Winter – Spring transition piece, as they’re perfect to wear solo, on warmer days or layered up with a shirt, hoodie, jacket etc. on the cooler days.

They’re a streetwear staple and so versatile, they are another piece you can see in high-street stores but also in high-end stores like Saint Laurent – one of my favourites is their distressed plaid shirt, with bleach splatters all over it’s super unique and an awesome piece.

I picked up mine from River Island, and it’s on in the sale for just £8 – so if you’re after one go grab it – here! I was surprised at how good the quality was – it has a really thick, soft material and a great shape. I’ve been wearing it loads, but in a tonne of different styles.

They are super easy to layer and I’ve been wearing it over hoodies, between pieces like a t-shirt and denim jacket, where it hangs below the waistline, creating a really nice layered look, and also with it tied around my waist.

Orange IS the new black & is taking over my Instagram feed with a haul of streetwear enthusiasts infusing some orange pieces into their looks. I’m a huge fan.

I think orange pieces work amazingly with an otherwise monochrome look & they are a great way to add some colour and make your look stand out. Perfect for the Spring/Summer season we’re heading into.

I really like this oversized orange hoodie and it’s a super affordable price, especially compared with a Balmain version which would set you back £400+.

For a while now I have been working on my blog, photography and Instagram aesthetic, and I have finally found and settled with a vibe that I love & I hope you are loving too. At the end of last year, my site had a full re-vamp and I published ‘Created By Adam Kay’ – my space to share blog posts about travel and fashion but also to showcase my photography and all other creative projects. I am back into the full swing of it now and absolutely love it.

To celebrate I have created a short trailer with a mixture of clips that summarise the overall vibe of ‘Created By Adam Kay’ so… if you’re a new visitor or loyal returner you can see exactly what to expect!! Enjoy…

Street style photography is something I have always loved – understandably, as a lover of fashion & aspiring photographer, it is perfect because this niche perfectly blends the two. I love browsing the Styleograph Instagram page and Phil Oh’s street style images for British Vogue. With heading to LFW this February I knew it would be a perfect time to try my hand at capturing street style images.

I love street style because it can give you the perfect style inspiration, picking out key pieces or trends that you really like and want to try out, but also because the photography can some amazingly bold looks that would most likely only be spotted at Fashion Week against the iconic black walls of 180, The Strand.

48 Hours at London Fashion Week

If you read last weeks blog post or follow me on Instagram (@_adamkay_) then you’ll know that earlier this month I was lucky enough to attend London Fashion Week, thanks to my wonderful girlfriend who booked it for us as part of my Christmas present.

I was also extremely lucky to receive tickets for the AW17 Joshua Kane show, held at The London Palladium, and renowned in the press recently as LFW’s biggest show yet! Fashion Week was an amazing experience, for me as a photographer – I was able to photograph a tonne of street style (Available to view on my blog next week!) and as a fashion lover I was able to be at the event and soak it all up but also, see my first fashion show – which was incredible.

You can see everything we got up to at LFW in my video below, I hope you enjoy it…

Today is the final day of London Fashion Week AW17, this weekend I was lucky enough to attend LFW for the first two days, as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. I had a great time capturing street style images outside of 180 The Strand (Home of LFW) and an amazing evening watching the Joshua Kane AW17 Show held at the London Palladium.

I love seeing what my favourite style influencers, bloggers and celebrities wear to Fashion Week so I thought that I would share my own outfits from the two days I was there. I kept to my personal casual streetwear style, and was really pleased with my looks.
