For a while now I have been working on my blog, photography and Instagram aesthetic, and I have finally found and settled with a vibe that I love & I hope you are loving too. At the end of last year, my site had a full re-vamp and I published ‘Created By Adam Kay’ – my space to share blog posts about travel and fashion but also to showcase my photography and all other creative projects. I am back into the full swing of it now and absolutely love it.
To celebrate I have created a short trailer with a mixture of clips that summarise the overall vibe of ‘Created By Adam Kay’ so… if you’re a new visitor or loyal returner you can see exactly what to expect!! Enjoy…
Metal and Rock T-Shirts, particularly these spliced style tops have been popping up all over the place recently, from Jaden Smith’s Instagram feed to fashion week runways and I love them.
The T-Shirts are are great way to mix up graphic prints and add a little extra detail into your look, rather than a typical (but still very cool) band tee. I got mine from Topman and have been loving wearing it with some ripped up denim and chelsea boots for a Saint Laurent x Vetements inspired look.
I think they’re a great Winter – Spring transition piece, as they’re perfect to wear solo, on warmer days or layered up with a shirt, hoodie, jacket etc. on the cooler days.
They’re a streetwear staple and so versatile, they are another piece you can see in high-street stores but also in high-end stores like Saint Laurent – one of my favourites is their distressed plaid shirt, with bleach splatters all over it’s super unique and an awesome piece.
I picked up mine from River Island, and it’s on in the sale for just £8 – so if you’re after one go grab it – here! I was surprised at how good the quality was – it has a really thick, soft material and a great shape. I’ve been wearing it loads, but in a tonne of different styles.
They are super easy to layer and I’ve been wearing it over hoodies, between pieces like a t-shirt and denim jacket, where it hangs below the waistline, creating a really nice layered look, and also with it tied around my waist.
Orange IS the new black & is taking over my Instagram feed with a haul of streetwear enthusiasts infusing some orange pieces into their looks. I’m a huge fan.
I think orange pieces work amazingly with an otherwise monochrome look & they are a great way to add some colour and make your look stand out. Perfect for the Spring/Summer season we’re heading into.
A few weeks ago, over the Easter break, my family and I took a trip to Cornwall. We stayed the week in a stunning home in St. Ives, with incredible ocean views. The Instagram vibes were insane. I was in my element!
Whilst there, I made a short travel film to fuel your wanderlust and give you some good vibes. Enjoy…

Street style photography is something I have always loved – understandably, as a lover of fashion & aspiring photographer, it is perfect because this niche perfectly blends the two. I love browsing the Styleograph Instagram page and Phil Oh’s street style images for British Vogue. With heading to LFW this February I knew it would be a perfect time to try my hand at capturing street style images.
I love street style because it can give you the perfect style inspiration, picking out key pieces or trends that you really like and want to try out, but also because the photography can some amazingly bold looks that would most likely only be spotted at Fashion Week against the iconic black walls of 180, The Strand.
If you read last weeks blog post or follow me on Instagram (@_adamkay_) then you’ll know that earlier this month I was lucky enough to attend London Fashion Week, thanks to my wonderful girlfriend who booked it for us as part of my Christmas present.
I was also extremely lucky to receive tickets for the AW17 Joshua Kane show, held at The London Palladium, and renowned in the press recently as LFW’s biggest show yet! Fashion Week was an amazing experience, for me as a photographer – I was able to photograph a tonne of street style (Available to view on my blog next week!) and as a fashion lover I was able to be at the event and soak it all up but also, see my first fashion show – which was incredible.
You can see everything we got up to at LFW in my video below, I hope you enjoy it…
Today is the final day of London Fashion Week AW17, this weekend I was lucky enough to attend LFW for the first two days, as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. I had a great time capturing street style images outside of 180 The Strand (Home of LFW) and an amazing evening watching the Joshua Kane AW17 Show held at the London Palladium.
I love seeing what my favourite style influencers, bloggers and celebrities wear to Fashion Week so I thought that I would share my own outfits from the two days I was there. I kept to my personal casual streetwear style, and was really pleased with my looks.
In the last couple of years, streetwear style has become a major trend, with the lines between runway style and streetwear being almost completely blurred with brands such as Vetements, Raf Simmons and even Saint Laurent & Gucci creating collections that exude a sense of street-luxe. As lucky as I am to have some high-end pieces in my clothes collection, there are some that at the moment are just too much, so I thought I’d compile a little wish list of high-end pieces that I am loving at the moment (with some high-street alternatives) to inspire your style and get you thinking how you can recreate the aesthetics of top brands. Also, be sure to vote for your favourite piece on the poll below…
Vetements Hoodie – super oversized, extra long sleeves, grunge/rock graphics – this is the style that has become synonymous with the French brand Vetements and it is exactly the style I want to wear & showcase on my blog. My favourite pieces from Vetements are their oversized hoodies, another piece that has been spotted on tonnes of style influencing celebrities & fashion bloggers. Streetwear is the epitome of Vetements and despite being a new brand it has taken the market by storm, popping up everywhere, which is lucky for us because it means that the style tends to be recreated by high-street stores (which it has… massively). A Vetement’s hoodie will set you back around £500 but I am just as obsessed with this alternative by Granted, which still features the oversized and long sleeve style of the Vetements pieces… it’s a steal at only £65 for a perfect ‘Steezy’ outfit.
Gucci’s ‘L’Aveugle Par Amour’ Denim Jacket – there has been a massive craze for this jacket since it released, with it being spotted on Kanye, Rihanna, Zayn and many other style influencing celebrities. I had never really loved Gucci’s collections until the last year, with their embroidery pieces and Gucci Ghost collection, both of which I love a lot. Priced at almost £3000, this jacket is a true luxury item but luckily since Gucci launched this collection embroidery pieces started popping up everywhere so it is not too difficult to find an alternative… My favourite is this jacket by ASOS at £55 it’s a tiny fraction of the cost but still has the same aesthetic and will work perfectly in Gucci inspired looks.
Saint Laurent Chelsea, Jodhpur & Harness Boots – An item that can be regularly, in fact, mostly always, spotted as part of a Harry Styles, or Scott Disick outfit, no matter the occasion. The Saint Laurent suede boots are the paradigm of a rockstar inspired look, but, as proven by Styles & Disick they can work perfectly in a smart or casual look. They have also become a streetwear staple, often frequenting the @bestofstreetwear (a personal favourite) Instagram feed. Paired with some skinny jeans and an oversized hoodie or coat creates another flawless yet super effortless outfit. Their iconic style and longevity makes them a great investment but costing around £700 they are fairly steep, so if you’re looking for some alternatives… I found this great pair of suede zip boots from Zign at £70 and these suede Chelsea boots from ASOS at only £45.
These are just a few of the high-end pieces I’m loving at the moment… let me know which is your favourite item below…
